If you need that immediate blast of heat to warm the glass without cooking your entire conveyor belt, a high-wattage shortwave lamp is the way to go. But here is a tip: match your wattage to your line speed. If you try to crank up the wattage just to make up for a slow ramp-up, you’ll likely fry the ends of the lamp. The nuts and bolts We use high-purity quartz glass because it lets the infrared light through without any fuss. Depending on where your line is located, we can add coatings to shift the emission or just keep the tube from getting gunked up with debris. For connectors, we stick with R7s or Sk15. They’re the industry standard for a reason—they let you swap a dead lamp in a few minutes without having to rewire the whole housing. We also keep the length tolerances incredibly tight. This means the lamp slides right into the socket without putting any weird pressure on the quartz. A few things to watch out for These are designed to fit right into the footprint of the big-brand machines you already have. It’s a simple swap. But, if you’re planning to upgrade to a higher wattage than what the original manufacturer gave you, do yourself a favor and check your wiring insulation. Pushing more heat through a short tube puts a lot of stress on your sockets. And please, stick to the correct voltage. If you run a lamp under-voltage, you’ll get uneven heating patterns across your containers, and you’re right back to square one.
