It sneaks in.&#xA;Water vapor finds the tiniest gaps and crawls through them. Once that steam hits the high-voltage terminals of an infrared lamp, you get these tiny electrical arcs. We call it &amp;ldquo;tracking.&amp;rdquo; It&amp;rsquo;s basically the heater slowly eating itself from the inside out until the connection burns through.&#xA;To stop this, we basically try to kill our heaters in the lab.&#xA;We throw them into chambers that are scorching hot (up to 85°C) and dripping with humidity. It&amp;rsquo;s a brutal environment. If we used a cheap gasket or a thin coating, the unit would be dead in a few days. We keep pushing until we see the resistance drift or the insulation fail.&#xA;Better for us to find the breaking point now than for you to find it in a customer&amp;rsquo;s ceiling.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
